French Cotton South Australian Derby

3 May 1986

The horse went from the outside gate. He was sent to the front by Alf Matthews to lead out of the straight . From there he box seated from there had a lovely run and won narrowly. It was a great effort to run the 2500 metres as he was not a true stayer

Given the run of the race by Alf Matthews she came away to score impressively at big odds

Won Group One 1998 Australian Guineas. He was ridden by Greg Childs and defeated the highly rated Zonda

Ridden by Shane Dye he came from well back to run the great Might And Power down near the line

Went from wide barrier (17) with Eddie Wilkinson on board . A fall early in the race with last years winner Marble Halls (Umrum 3 rd) breaking his leg caused interference. Being out wide we missed all of this and came away for a good win

The great horse’s second Toorak in consecutive years. Taken to the front from a good draw by Jim Cassidy he never looked in danger and shot away on the turn to win by 41/2 lengths. We really enjoyed this race as he had it won a long way from home and we could sit back and watch without being too worried

She came from back in the field and stormed down the outside to get up in the last couple of strides. The win gave Kerin McEvoy his third group winner for the day

After going back from a wide barrier Dan Nikolic brought her with a well timed run to circle the field and win racing away. A great thrill on what is probably our favourite track

Gold Guru Bloodhorse Breeders Stakes

3 Feb 1997 The horse for the first time showed his true ability under strong riding from Jason Holder to storm home and win comfortably

Gold Guru A A M I Classic

21 Feb 1998 Ridden by Greg Childs He raced away to beat Zonda who had come from New Zealand with a big reputation

Umrum Craiglee Stakes.

5 Sep 1998 A brilliant front running ride by Dan Nikolic saw him hang on all the long Flemington straight to score an emphatic victory by 3/4 of a length

Umrum Lee Steer Stakes

2 Dec 2000 After the Spring we travelled to Perth and won the Lee Steer stakes. Jim Cassidy went out with a big lead and the horse tired up the long uphill straight to win narrowly

Southern Speed Makybe Diva Stakes

8 Sep 2012 Well ridden in a slowly run race She hit the front at the top of the straight into a strong head wind , Manigar who was tucked in behind her with cover got out late and flashed home.

Follow The Ride. Christmas Handicap

26 Dec 1995 Coming from near last on the home turn under hard riding from Roy McKay the horse flew down the outside to win running away

Will Fly SGIC Stakes

20 May 1996 With Jason Holder aboard the filly came home hard along the inside fence to win narrowly

Will Fly Spring Stakes

5 Sep 1998 Cominjg from well back in the field Will Fly won narrowly . She was ridden by Jason Holder

14 Sep 1996 The first 2 year.old race of the season run in Australia Umrum defeated Gold Guru by a head with a long distance to third Gold Guru was slow to begin. Both horses went on to be Group one performers and winners Gold Guru three and Umrum two  

Umrum J B Macdonald Stakes

21 Sep 1997 Won by 3.5 lengths for a hollow victory. Am sure Dan Nikolic had George Moores whistle

Umrum Sports Concept Stakes

4 Oct 1997 Another race controlled from the front by Dan Nikolic. He never looked like loosing
