Hello everyone

Well last weekend proved to be a challenging one as can happen in our Industry. Amongst our weekend runners we had three contesting Black Type Races and we were certainly hopeful of more than we got.

In Sydney Dalasan ran 7th in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes beaten 3.5lengths, but his jockey Kerrin McEvoy felt with better luck from the home turn he should have finished a fair bit closer.

With him we push on now to the Group 1 Doncaster on April 10 which is run under handicap conditions so he will drop alarmingly in the weights.

Locally at Morphettville in the two feature races we had identical placings from Another Award and Extra Time both running 10th in fields of 15.

Another Award was beaten 5.2length in a run out of character for her. Connections will be advised of our plans with her moving forward. Extra Time was closer at the finish beaten 3.8lengths and perhaps did not have the perfect run.

Of our other runners at Morphettville Ichibansan (4th), and Glory Game (6th) were quite good in their respective events. Meanwhile Jonquest (8th) and Vancouver Velvet (9th) finished alongside each other in their race on the day.

A frustrating day Saturday was helped a little on Sunday by the win of our lone runner at the Oakbank meeting Daily Spirit. It was especially pleasing to combine with our stable apprentice Felicity Atkinson for our maiden success together.

This Easter long weekend we are likely to have four runners at Oakbank on Saturday and two at Gawler on Monday.

Saturday’s runners will be Tequila Time, Pimm’s Party, Pearl Bandit and Tony’s Reward.

At Gawler stepping out for the team are African Awesome and Diamond Tycoon.

Maybe we can get the Easter chocolates with our runners over the weekend.

On behalf of Andrew and I we hope you have a terrific Easter.

All the best.

Leon
